As part of the extensive education program funded by Chatham County, the Town of Thunderbolt, and the Cities of Bloomingdale, Garden City, Pooler, Port Wentworth, Savannah, and Tybee Island, the MPC Water Resources staff target an industry type each year for BMP education. Previous targeted groups include municipal and private car wash facilities oil change/maintenance facilities, landscape maintenance businesses, porta-jon companies and haulers, and more.
The informational seminar entitled “Car Wash BMP Seminar! A Best Management Practices Seminar for Municipal and Privately Owned Car Wash/Detail Facilities” was held by the MPC. The topics presented at the seminar included stormwater, non-point source pollution, Community Partners for Clean Water (CPCW), inspections, and best management practices for application and disposal of wash water activities. Any private or municipal representative from within Chatham County was allowed to attend at no charge.
Related presentations and information from other BMP seminars is included below.
